Kennel Assistant

We are hiring - Part Time Kennel Assistant

We are looking for an attentive kennel assistant to help oversee the well-being of the animals in our care. The kennel attendant will be responsible to supervise individual and social group play, clean kennels, administer medications and provide animals with food and water. To ensure success as a kennel attendant, you should be able to anticipate and tend to the needs of the animals. Ultimately, a top notch kennel attendant will be able to tailor their care according to the animals physical, emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Kennel Requirements

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

Previous experience caring for animals

Strong organizational skills, must be able to multi-task and problem solve

Excellent interpersonal skills

Capacity to lift upto 50 lbs and be physically fit

A passion for animal welfare

Must be available to work during days, evenings, and weekends including holidays

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

Kennel Attendant Responsibilities

Transporting animals to and from the kennels

Ensure the animals have ample, fresh food and water at all times

Cleaning animal waste, spilled food, hair and other debris from the kennel

General Cleaning inside and outside of kennels and building

Supervising animals during free play inside and outside & in all weather conditions

Interacting with customers, taking payments

Schedule pet boarding or daycare requests

Cleaning/sanitizing of Kennels

Sweeping and mopping of all kennels

Bathing animals as needed

Administer medications as needed

Hours & Wage

MUST be available evenings, weekends & holidays. Shifts will be rotated through all staff. Minimum Wage to start

6:45am - 11:45am

9:00am - 12:00pm

2:00pm - 5:00pm

2:00pm - 8:00pm
