Disability Support Worker

**Job Title: Disability Support Worker with American Sign Language Experience**
**Days/Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Friday and Saturday 10am-4pm**
**Location: South Edmonton**
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- Assisting clients with daily living routines including personal care
- Dealing effectively with behaviors
- Simple meal preparations
- Maintaining appropriate documentations and records
- Involving the client in community outings and activities, such as taking clients swimming, recreation centers, library, school activities.
- Lifting and transferring clients using wheelchairs and other mobility devices safely.
- Working with a team including the client, family, guardian and managers professionally.
**Qualifications**
- Experience working with people with disabilities _**required**_
- Experience working with challenging behaviors _**an asset**_
- Experience working with personal care _**required**_
- _**Must**_ have a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check prior to commencing employment
- _**Must**_be able to provide two work related references
- _**Must**_ have a minimum of Emergency/Basic First Aid with CPR level A
- Valid Work Permit (If Applicable)
- _**Must**_ have a class 5 driver's license with proof of third party $2million liability
- _**Must**_ have American Sign Language Skills
