Purpose: Contributes to the overall success of 1832 Investment Consulting/1832 Asset Management in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities: - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. - Calculate performance for all funds for eventual use in monthly measurement, monitoring and performance reporting; - Participate in the implementation process and roll-out of Eagle performance measurement tool; - Produce performance reports that include analysis of returns, risk, added-value and portfolio characteristics for internally managed portfolios; - Provide return data and portfolio characteristics information to institutional sales for purposes of marketing to institutional clients; - Prepare timely investment commentary and performance reporting for monthly and quarterly performance measurement reports on mutual funds, private wealth, institutional clients; - Collect and process investment and accounting data from various sources, ensure accuracy of data, investigate discrepancies, correct and confirm data; - Liaise with Portfolio Managers and Accounting to resolve any discrepancies in returns; - Investigate and document discrepancies such as unexplained market value changes, corporate actions or incorrect feeds; - Test to ensure accuracy and completeness of information being used to calculate performance and benchmarks; - Assist in the preparation of presentation materials when required. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. Education/Experience: - Bachelor Degree. In an analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Commerce, Finance or Economics an asset; - A minimum of CFA Level 1 Completed - CIPM/FRM would be an asset - Completion of Canadian Securities Course - Previous experience within the Mutual Fund industry - Able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines with mínimal leadership oversight Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
