**POSITION PURPOSE**

The Associate Production Manager (APM) position is vital to the successful delivery of high quality visual effects for our clients. The APM will act as a liaison between the coordinators and Production Manager to manage, conform, and drive the schedule to assist with production delivery. You will use your organisational skills to work with the coordinators in keeping track of all shots and their statuses in order to clearly debrief any big picture schedule or production impacts to the PM.

As an APM, you will use your calm and positive demeanour to resolve issues as they arise. You will need to adapt to change and have the ability to modify schedules as the PM requires. You will keep track of workflow progress through personal interactions with Coordinators, Department Supervisors as well as Shotgrid; alerting the PM of any issues which may result in workflow delays.

Alongside the PM the APM will manage, coach, and guide the team to ensure smooth interdepartmental communication and workflow.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide ongoing support and oversight to ensure the highest productivity of the overall production with focus on Production Team and Supervisors
- Translate Project timelines and milestones into a clear end date schedule based on the PM’s milestones, tracking and consideration of bid days, and show resources.
- Supports DPMs, PM’s, Coords, and Supervisors in tracking the scope-of-work, and monitoring inventory expectations
- Assists in communication flow between show and departments.
- Conducts schedule lookaheads, with the PM establishes weekly/monthly targets, and proactively identifies concerns based on targets
- Oversees and trains production coordinators to conduct rounds, track artist tasks, and promote efficient handoff practices between artist departments.
- Participate in client meetings as needed
- Work with the Technical Assistant Supervisor to manage render farm usage
- Other duties and responsibilities consistent with your position may be assigned to you from time to time

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Ability to train and coach production staff
- 3 years experience in film, television or animation
- Proven experience with project management
- Ability to train and coach

**Technical skills**
- MS Excel skills
- Shotgrid/ Proprietary task management software experience is an advantage
