CNC Operator

This position is responsible for operating all equipment required for the operation designed to produce the customer part. Operate CNC & Automation Machining equipment and inspect sample parts and notify management of the potential non-conforming products.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Proficient operation of all CNC machine types within GMI
- Perform complete tool changes
- Troubleshoot tooling & machine issues such as touching off and/or indicating a tool, replacing a tool holder, removing stripped screw, and fabricating coolant lines
- Maintain bar feeder (adjust and replace)
- Remi saws - setting up/troubleshooting/changing saw blades
- Read, interpret, and comprehend blueprint drawings, including gauge point measurements, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), and datum structures
- Measurement & testing equipment comprehension
- Ability to use handheld and vision measurement devices and ability to troubleshoot, including changing batteries, setting pre-sets, using calculation options on comparators, gauge cleanliness, part positioning and gauge staging fixtures
- Know raw material usage, requirements, and traceability activities
- Achieving day-to-day production requirements
- Acts as a guidance and support for other positions operating within the assigned cell structure
- Trains and mentors’ other production positions for growth opportunity within the organization
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, Quality procedures and work instruction

Glueckler Metal Inc., first established through trial and error in the family-owned garage back in 1985, is a family-owned operation that has evolved over the past 30+ years to become a world-class precision machining, high volume, SRC (Safety Related Components) parts supplier within the automotive and heavy transportation industries. Currently employing around 100 team members, much of our staff have become like family, many having served 20 or even 30 years with the company. The strength of our team to continuously overcome the challenges of our ever-changing industry forms the backbone of our organization. Over the years, GMI has acquired over 30 multi-spindle, multi-axis CNC Machining centers while continuously working towards automating processes to eliminate as many manual requirements from our staff base as possible.

With 4 set operational shifts, plus our office and administrative shifts, opportunities within various departments may become available. In 2021 especially, GMI has adopted the concept of establishing various departmental “teams” across the organization, consisting of members within different levels of the organization to meet regularly to discuss ongoing initiatives within each department. **Salary**: $20.50-$21.50 per hour
