At The Briton House we have created a remarkable and historic retirement centre. The Briton House has had the tradition of caring for people since 1976. We offer a wide variety of activities, large suites and the ability to enjoy a magnificent indoor garden all year round. Our facility also includes a splendid recital hall, a glass domed swimming pool, an exercise area and an attractive dining lounge. In addition to offering care services in our independent living suites we also have three assisted living floors. **Mission Statement**:
The Briton House Retirement Centre endeavors to honour its residents and serve their individual needs in a warm, caring and compassionate manner.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in housekeeping or retirement home is an asset.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to be patient dealing with residents.
- Detail oriented and someone that takes initiative and performs tasks before being asked.
- Reliable/ punctual.
- Good knowledge of cleaning chemicals and procedures is a definite asset (ie.WHMIS).
- Job requires repetitive bending and lifting.

**Duties**:
**Laundry**:

- Putting in large loads into large washers and dryers
- Folding sheets/towels/etc.
- Folding residents’ clothes
- Keeping work area clan and tidy
- Cleaning lint vents
- Sweeping/mopping as needed
- Other duties as required

**Resident’s Room attendant**:

- Replenishing towels and changing the beddings.
- Cleaning and polishing bathtubs, sinks, taps, and toilet.
- Vacuuming and mopping.
- Emptying garbage and recycling.
- Stocking up carts with linens, towels, and cleaning supplies.
- Cleaning approximately 8 resident’s suite per day.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $16.37-$17.15 per hour

- Every Weekend

COVID-19 considerations:
All Briton House Retirement Home employees are required to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine series, approved by Health Canada.
