**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:
The Genetic Assistant will work with the Genetics Program team to support the work of the Genetic Counsellors and Medical Geneticist.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**:

- Successful completion of a related bachelor's degree e.g. genetics/genetic counselling, biology, or other science/ health-related field from an accredited educational institution required
- Previous clinical genetic course work which may include a Genetic Assistant Training Program or other clinical genetic focused seminars and workshops
- Experience conducing and critiquing literature reviews an asset
- Experience with research (genetic) including data entry, analysis, reporting and presenting
- Experience working in the field of Genetics

- Demonstrated effective time management
- Ability to work in fast paced clinical setting
- Demonstrated good communication skills including evidence of strong documentation skills
- Must have the ability to work well independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to work well with patients, families, and all levels of staff in the community
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills (including experience using Microsoft 365 products such as Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Skilled in multi-tasking, prioritization and critical thinking/problem solving
- Must possess a high degree of efficiency and accuracy, with a great attention to detail
- Willingness to adapt to new technology
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a good attendance record
- Previous experience completing a literature review
- Understanding of medical terminology
