The Warehouse Manager oversees warehouse performance, including but not limited to, shipping activities, receiving and general warehousing as well as supporting the local production operations through material handling activities and inventory management.
We are seeking a Warehouse leader who is hands-on and enjoys spending time on the floor as well as assisting and managing people.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Implement objectives and plan for improving and problem-solving facility specific challenges that will deliver KPI’s. Provides foresight into potential challenges and plans mitigation.
- Understand, promote, follow, and ensure team compliance for all company and regulatory standards including, but not limited to, Provincial Employment Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS), Food Safety (GMP/SQF), Safe Operating Procedures (SOP's), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Foster, support and encourage success for all employees in a collaborative, servant leadership style management model.
- Hires, mentors, coaches, and trains direct reports, completing annual review performance evaluations and succession planning. Applies any discipline and improvement plans as needed.
- Fosters a culture of respect, openness, teamwork, growth, and learning.
- Works closely with cross-functional departments to achieve goals and targets as one cohesive team.
- High degree of customer service to internal departments, ensure proper management and timely communications on all deliveries, reporting any delays, missed deliveries/shipments working with Supply Chain team to resolve and ensure needed raw materials for production are in inventory.
- Committed to ensuring quality standards in all aspects of work including product sold, received and quality of work and service.
- Manages inventory of material handling equipment and machinery such as lift trucks and pallet wrappers, both in warehouse and production environments
- Other duties as assigned
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management role
- Advanced knowledge of logistics and warehouse best practices, including RF Scan Guns
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills built on a team-focused approach.
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems.
- Willingness and ability to collaborate with other departments in achieving company goals.
- Detail oriented and ability to work well under pressure and with mínimal supervision.
- Thrives in a fast-paced work environment, maintains a position frame of mind and sets an example of professionalism for other employees.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Permanent Full-time position (40 hours per week)
- Office 50%, Refrigerated Warehouse, 40% (cold storage, 1-4c). 10% other. Varies.
- Exposure to noise and a wet temperature varied environment when in the production area
- Interaction with employees, management, and the public at large.
- After hours availability on emergency calls
- Wearing PPE required in certain areas.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Some travel from time to time may be required.
