**JOB SUMMARY**

The employee is responsible for covering childcare staff shifts as needed, aiding in the kitchen, as needed, and keeping the school in a clean and presentable manner. This includes cleaning and sanitizing the hallway area, staff room, outdoor play structure, and staff washrooms. All this is done while ensuring the philosophy and the policies and procedures of Cozy Time and the Ministry of Health are being met.

**INTERACTION WITH CHILDREN**
- Providing assistance or support in the care of children, when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to children, families, and staff.

**GENERAL CUSTODIAL OPERATIONS**
- Will report directly to the Directors, Olga Khomyak and Isay Khomyak.
- Ensure proper storage of cleaning tools, supplies and equipment.
- Ensure that all cleaning products are stored and maintained properly in the kitchen.
- Ensure that all cleaning products are up to date and non expired.
- Responsible to read manuals of all equipment to ensure that they are used properly.
- Report any damage or non-working equipment to the Directors.
- Clean sinks and organize cabinets and drawers.
- Responsible for keeping the kitchen, kitchen equipment and food storage areas clean and tidy and in good working order.

**GENERAL DAILY CLEANLINESS AND TIDINESS**
- Complete all kitchen cleaning checklists.
- Will freeze any leftovers the day they are used.
- Remove from freezer any food needed for the following day for defrosting.
- Wash dishes, pots and pans and load and unload dishwasher.
- Do laundry that pertains to kitchen items and leave laundry room in a clean and organized state when done.
- Wipes counters, stoves, microwaves, and appliances daily.
- Clean and disinfect counters and sinks in kitchen.
- Clean and disinfect staff room. Wipe down counters and tables in staff room daily.
- Empty hallway/ staff washroom trashcans daily.
- Sweep and mop floors daily.
- Vacuum all carpets and rugs in the hallway and office areas twice a day.

**RECORDKEEPING**
- A monthly cleaning log must be completed daily, for hallway and staff washroom disinfection.
- A weekly playground inspection log must be completed daily, for the outdoor playground 1 and 2.
- Monthly playground inspection log must be completed at the start of each month, for the outdoor playground 1 and 2.

**FOOD PREPARATION**
- Assist in preparing and cooking breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
- When working in the kitchen must wear a hair net.
- Ensure hands are washed frequently throughout the day.
- Assist program staff with serving meals and other food related activities as needed.

**PERSONAL**
- Responsible for behaving in a professional manner regarding good grooming, appropriate dress wear and general behavior.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
