**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Product Preparation & Merchandising**
- Assist in leading a high-volume, from-scratch bakery production department.
- Follow all standardized recipes without deviation; report any concerns or errors immediately.
- Maintain a full, colorful, and abundant showcase with attention to product rotation and signage.
- Assist in all promotional and holiday product rollouts.
- Promote seasonal and featured items through sampling and merchandising support.
- Stay informed about new products and assist with their presentation and placement.

**Operational Oversight**
- Estimate and place orders for ingredients and supplies with approval.
- Monitor customer order summaries and ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality fulfillment.
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
- Assist with frequent inventory counts and support ordering based on trends and promotions.
- Execute waste bin procedures and monitor sanitation checklists and logs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.
- Cover bakery shifts as needed.

**Customer Experience**
- Deliver legendary customer service by engaging with guests and offering expert product knowledge.
- Resolve customer complaints with professionalism and care.
- Ensure that food products and service meet Sunterra’s quality standards.
- Support a welcoming, informative, and fresh shopping environment.

**Leadership & Team Development**
- Support the Bakery Team Lead in supervising and coordinating daily team activities.
- Train and coach team members in job duties and health and safety procedures.
- Set daily and weekly production targets, focusing on underperforming items and reviewing progress with the team and Market Manager.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional service and professionalism.

**Daily Tasks**
- Prepare and bake a variety of fresh products according to Sunterra’s recipes and standards.
- Operate ovens, mixers, proofers, and other bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive, unpack, and stock bakery ingredients and supplies.
- Maintain accurate retail pricing and signage across all bakery items.
- Ensure proper product rotation and remove damaged or expired items.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing bakery department.

**Qualifications**
- Experience in retail, food service, or bakery operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong communication abilities.
- Familiarity with inventory control and merchandising is an asset.
- WHMIS and Food Safety Certification required (training provided by Sunterra).

**Working Conditions**
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Exposure to temperature variations in baking and prep areas.
