Mechanical Technician Description:
For this role, we are looking for someone with a strong background in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or physics, preferably with some pipe system design experience.
Typically have working knowledge of mechanical parts as well as 2D/3D computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD and Solidworks.
This role will include:
- Travel to job sites or factories to install and maintain systems.
- Mechanical designers typically begin a project by meeting with the project
- Managers, engineers, and clients to understand the needs and requirements for a new product or mechanical system. For example, designers working on a project to create an automobile engine may consult engineers regarding which structural materials to use or clients regarding engine efficiency requirements.
- Once materials and specifications have been determined, designers begin using CAD software to plan and develop models. This may include testing and modifying models under different conditions, such as temperature or humidity.
Mechanical Technician Job Duties:
- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
- Travels to customer sites to perform hands-on system installations
- Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods.
- Testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
- Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services;
- Following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.
- Maintains system and product database by writing computer programs and entering data.
- Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
- Reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
