**What You Will Do as an Operations Manager**:
- Support the owner to achieve your team's targets and maintain the safety, quality, and production standards of Hawthorn Landscape Design.
- Understand the day-to-day operations & help the company respond to customers, manage operations and improve systems already in place.
- The role is split between the office & in the field.
**What are your tasks**:
- Operation of power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, aerators and power rakes
- Assist with Estimates
- Quality control checks on Customer Properties
- Moving and transporting of materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies and manual lifting
- Driving a truck and trailer and disposing garden waste in the landfill
- Performing other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments, shop and equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning daily
- Always wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Complying with all company policies and regulations
- Maintaining and enforcing standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
- Ensuring that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members follow government and company PPE standards
- Enforcing and working in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on jobsites
- Communicating with customers in a polite and courteous manner

Hawthorn Landscape Design is made up of a dynamic team of horticulturalists with a passion for creating beautiful and sustainable landscapes. We are a woman owned local Squamish business and have a particular love of ecological design.
We are committed to helping improve the planet through environmentally sustainable gardening practices. We love being outside and getting our hands in the dirt. We do everything from garden maintenance, installations of plants, shrubs and trees as well planting native plants in beautiful forested and riparian environments.
We believe in supporting sustainable communities and doing our part to mitigate the impacts of climate change on our natural environment. We do this by volunteering our time to help design and plant pollinator friendly gardens in partnership with community members. We also volunteer with conservation and plant restoration non-profits by helping plant native plants in wild areas.
We provide a fun and cohesive working environment and provide mentorship and opportunities for professional growth.

**Salary**: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

- Squamish, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
**Experience**:
- landscaping: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- BC Driving Licence (required)
