Manager, Strategic Procurement

The Manager, Strategic Procurement will be responsible for initiating and developing a procurement practice for Transdev Canada that will allow the company to engage with suppliers more strategically and yield associated benefits. The Manager, Strategic Procurement will collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders including the executive team, provincial leaders, general managers and their teams, and other collaborators, in order to understand their needs and make recommendations to appropriate strategic procurement practices that would support the achievement of best-in-class pricing, quality and reliability, strong supplier responsiveness and service, as well as efficiency through process standardization and the use of appropriate tools.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide visibility on spend and cost improvement opportunities to management by performing spend analysis and benchmarking
- Identify opportunities to consolidate spend and develop supplier relationships that could be more strategic in nature to enable improved cost performance, service delivery, goods quality or other potential benefits. Develop and execute on negotiation strategies in order to achieve such benefits.
- Develop a supplier relationship management program that includes the monitoring of the changing market and company dynamics of our key suppliers in order to anticipate potential opportunities or risks to our supply chain. Effectively utilize this market intelligence in order to develop procurement strategies or specific negotiation tactics.
- Advise on, and provide support relating to the implementation of our new procurement system
- Develop procurement policies and procedures to be adopted across Canada
- Support our corporate risk and compliance processes to ensure our suppliers meet our ethical standards
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, operations management, or equivalent.
- Bilingual (English and French)
- Over 10 years of related work experience, with minimum 5 years of experience in strategic procurement, supplier sourcing, contract negotiations and supply chain management.
- Experience with and strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain including:
- Sourcing
- Conducting RFQs, RFPs, and running competitive supplier selection processes
- Contract negotiations
- Vendor Qual processes
- Placing orders, receiving orders
- Supplier monitoring, relationship management and feedback
- Experience with category management; direct experience with categories such as automotive parts and components, fuel or other such technical categories an asset
- Experience with multi-national companies and working with diverse, multi-cultural stakeholders would be highly advantageous.

- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, able to develop trust-based working relationships and effectively influence others
- Analytical and numerate, with good judgment. Prefers to make decisions after considering relevant facts and data
- Highly self-motivated and results oriented, will often take initiative and be self-directed
- Demonstrates ethical conduct beyond reproach
This role is in-office and requires occasional travel (up to 20%) across Canada to collaborate with stakeholders or to meet with suppliers.
