Independent Sales Agent

EE Schenck Company has been a recognized leader in high quality fabrics and notions based in Portland, Oregon, US, for more than a century. We are seeking an independent sales agent to offer a full range of products to an established Canadian customer base of quilt shops, fabric stores, craft stores, online stores, manufacturers and other related businesses, as well as prospecting new accounts. This is an established sales territory for Ontario and Quebec provinces.

**About us**:

- Founded in 1921 in the United States, EE Schenck distributes fabrics, notions, books, patterns and gifts to our customer base, which includes quilt shops, manufacturers, online retailers, cottage industry, craft stores, and other têxtile related businesses.
- We distribute various products for several hundred fabric & notions companies.
- We also design and print our own proprietary quilting fabric lines, the most recognizable of which is Maywood Studio.

**About our Sales Agents**:

- They are commission-based independent contractors, with gas and business centric hotel lodging reimbursed.
- Most own a larger vehicle, such as a mini-van, to carry a strong representation of samples EE Schenck represents.
- They are willing to travel the territory to proactively grow their business.
- They are as passionate about this industry as their customers are.
- They work to build long-term relationships with their customers.
- They have perseverance, stamina, and are self-motivated.

**Our responsibility to our reps**:

- Training, training and more training
- We have a great reputation with customers, excellent customer service and in-house sales rep support.
- We pick up major travel expenses - gas and lodging (and all expenses when we require our reps to attend tradeshows and sales meetings).
- “Start-up” flat commission advance during the first six-month training period.

**Our rep’s responsibility to EE Schenck**:

- Work diligently setting appointments, determining sales call routes and calling on customers.
- Provide full coverage of all customer accounts assigned to the territory, visiting and keeping in contact with all customers on a regular basis.
- Prospecting potential new customers located in the geographic territory.
- Manage samples so lines are current and up to date during the selling process.
- Stay organized and keep moving forward.

Pay: $50,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
