**Boeing Canada** Operations Ltd. is seeking an experienced **Database Administrator** reporting to the Senior Information Technology Manager, working out of the **Winnipeg, Manitoba** office.

The **Database Administrator** is the general focal for all items relating to database standards, design, security, tuning, backup and recovery.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Designs, develops and maintains databases.
- Designs, implements and supports database backup, recovery systems, database migration and archiving systems and procedures.
- Implements database security infrastructure and manages user access accounts.
- Collaborates with architects and technical specialists to identify proper hardware and software implementations.
- Plans, installs and tests software upgrades and patches.
- Monitors performance trends to identify and correct problems.
- Assists in the development and integration of programs, plans, strategies and processes to meet business goals for authorization such as sourcing strategy for commitment of work, cost imperatives, deployment analysis and impact mitigation.

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)**:

- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- 3+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting corporate databases including installing, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting and/or upgrading Oracle databases (RDBMS versions10g, 11g, 12c and higher)
- 3+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator developing and implementing backup and recovery processes for corporate databases
- 3+ years’ experience with Linux

**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)**:

- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) designation
- Experience in writing and evaluating SQL scripts including writing and tuning SQL and PL/SQL code for stored procedures, functions and triggers in an Oracle database
- Preference will be given to those with Redhat / Oracle Linux experience
- Oracle training for database administration/backup/recovery
- Knowledge / Experience in HP-UX
- Programming experience (VB.Net)
- Experience with RAC and Data Guard

**Education/Experience**:
Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
