Technical Product Owner

DA is comprised of nearly 350 professionals spanning across teams including Software Development, Data Science, Architecture, Product Development, Customer Success and Support, Operations, Sales, Marketing and Business Development. These teams are at the heart of the technological innovation happening at Teck and provide solutions that use artificial intelligence and big data to diagnose, predict and prescribe actions to improve safety, sustainability and production, and drive operational outcomes across the mining value chain.

Reporting to the Acting Manager, Platform the Technical Product Owner plays a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and success of the multi-customer platform’s technical products. They bridge the gap between technical development teams and business partners, ensuring that the product aligns with the platform’s strategic goals and meets customer needs. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including development, marketing, sales, product and customer support.

**Responsibilities**:
Product Strategy
- Develop and articulate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with overall Teck objectives
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to find opportunities and trends

Roadmap Planning
- Craft and maintain a detailed product roadmap that outlines features, enhancements and releases over time
- Prioritize features based on customer feedback, business value and market demands

Requirement Definition
- Collaborate with partners to gather and define detailed product requirements
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and user stories

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of product features
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies
- Work closely with other Product Owners to ensure alignment on strategy and delivery of objectives

Quality Assurance
- Support the definition and implement QA processes to ensure the product meets high standards of performance and reliability

User Experience (UX)
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to build a seamless and intuitive user experience
- Iterate on product design based on user feedback and usability testing

Product Launch
- Plan and implement product launches, including coordination of marketing, sales, product and customer support activities

Metrics and Analysis
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the platform and its products and services
- Analyze product metrics and user feedback to make data-driven decisions

Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with product development and release
- Proactively address challenges and obstacles to ensure successful project delivery

Continuous Improvement
- Iterate on product features based on user feedback, market trends, and technological advancements
- Stay updated on industry standard processes and new technologies

**Qualifications**:

- Proven 8+ years experience as a Technical Product Manager / Owner or in a similar role
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
- Working experience within sophisticated, cross-functional teams
- Highly technical, product focused professional that with excellent communication and interpersonal skills i.e. plays nice with others
- Proven track record in modern, cloud based B2B/B2C platform environments
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts
- Demonstrated proficiency in stakeholder management
- Experience with sophisticated analytics and data processing
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Effective communication and presentation abilities
- Analytical approach with a focus on data-driven decision-making
