This is a Part-time Support Staff Bargaining Unit - Regular Part-time (RPT) at 8 hours per week, reporting to the Director, Teaching and Learning Commons.
Facilitates conversations with college and community stakeholders around issues of social justice. Sources and recommends guest speakers to provide professional development opportunities. Conducts research to develop and facilitate learning opportunities. Curates resources to support social justice across the campus. Organizes and leads Centre for Social Justice advisory committee meetings. Acts as a liaison and occasional resource between community members and the college in collaboration with the Director Teaching & Learning Commons. Collaborates with the Lion’s Heart Technician to develop service schedules. In collaboration with the Teaching & Learning Commons team, promotes social justice related college and community events (for example SWIFF and Empty Bowls). Participates in other activities within the Teaching & Learning Commons team as appropriate.
**Specific Accountabilities**:
- Engages in open dialogue with stakeholders on issues of social justice.
- Recommends guest speakers.
- Curates resources to support social justice and inclusive practice.
- Maintains relationships with community partners.
- Collaborates with other team members to develop service schedules.
- Facilitates professional development opportunities that support social justice and inclusive practice.
**Qualifications**:
- A four-year undergraduate University degree or higher, or equivalent.
- At least three years of practical experience working with diverse communities on issues of social justice and inclusion.
- Strong community networks and ability to build relationships, navigate complex situations, and work collaboratively with others.
- Lived experience as a person from a marginalized group will also be considered.
