Reporting to the Operations Manager, the focus of the HSE Specialist is to Satisfy Katch Kan’s internal and external client needs regarding Safety, ISO, and Lean manufacturing to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained in the workplace as it relates to safety, environment, productivity, and compliance. This position will oversee both Canada and USA HSE requirements.

- Understand and utilize key policies, procedures, and processes to do my role.
- Attend (in-person if possible) all quarterly company assessments for setting new targets based on the EOS system.
- Understand the computer programs being utilized for fiscal management, sales & marketing, and operations and how they relate to my responsibilities.
- Demonstrated high commitment to professional ethical standards.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of services and products.

**_Health, and Safety Accountabilities:_**
- Develop and implement safety strategies to ensure an established culture that puts priority on the safety and security of people, property, and the environment.
- Update safety practices and policies where required, identify, and address concerns and communicate all safety information with leaders and co-workers.
- Ensure reports and documents are accurate, up-to-date, and assessable.
- Provide training for all employees in a timely manner
- Ensure effective onboarding, and training is conducted and maintained for all company hires.
- Input and update the ISNetwork, Complyworks NCMS, TPS, PEC, the HSE registry and other third-party safety portals accurately and timely
- Communicate with clients and insurance companies when required.
- ISO 9001 & 14001 standards are complied with, environmental issues are identified and addressed, and product standards meet client expectations. Consistently achieve ISO compliance.
- Implement the organization's corporate requirements and compliance with OH&S legislation.
- Ensure safety processes continue to meet COR and other governing body compliance requirements.
- Coordinate daily and monthly paperwork including safety meetings, Hazard IDs, Incident reports etc.
- Ensure safety and emergency plans comply with government regulations.
- Lean manufacturing principles are understood and complied with (a clean, safe, and organized shop).
- Perform 5S audits, generating work plans for improvement, soliciting leaders' support, transferring responsibility to employees and training and coaching.
- Audit incidents, hazard assessments, processes & procedures, and update and develop as required.
- Maintain PPE inventory and all reporting requirements.
- Control all SDS, audit for revision.
- Assist management, operations, and employees with HSEMS and Safe Work Manuals
- Maintain TRIR/TRIF and OSHA required documents
- Support the implementation and execution of Katch Kan’s Substance Abuse (D&A) policy and programs
