Human Resources Assistant

The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for providing transactional HR support to the HR and Production Teams. He or she will monitor daily activity on and off the production floor, assist with the rollout and implementation of policy, orientation and training, health and safety and other areas as directed. Clerical work will include creating and filing of attendance records, FOB card registrations, security reports and any other required ordering system. Other duties involve maintaining accurate, up-to-date HR filing systems and personnel records. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support HR Business Partner and Production Staff with all transactional HR functions.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive personnel records.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection processes.
- Prepare formal communications to employees for HR management review.
- Respond to internal and external Human Resources related inquiries from employees, department managers, business partner, and other parties.
- Distribute HR policies, procedures and memorandums to the appropriate individuals, divisions, or departments across the organization.
- Assist with the conduct of disciplinary action.
- Help to ensure organization wide compliance with policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
- Assist with employee orientation and training.
- Assist HR Business Partner with training program development.
- Fax, photocopy and scan documents as required.
- Receive and distribute all forms of HR communications.
- Assist with regular research and compliance initiatives regarding Human Resources issues.
- Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations.
- Accurate and appropriate filing of correspondence, cards, invoices and receipts
- Locate filed materials upon request, ensuring that materials are given only to authorized parties.
- Use standardized filing methods and procedures, e.g. alphabetical, numerical.
- Keep accurate and complete records and forms of filed items.
- Add new material to files and records.
- Create new files and records as necessary.
- Eliminate unnecessary or outdated materials, destroying them or transferring them to inactive storage according to file maintenance / legal guidelines.
- Perform other duties as required.
**Requirements/experience**:
- High school diploma, GED or other equivalent.
- Post Secondary Diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
- Experience as a Human Resources Assistant preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal skills and comprehension.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Highly organized.
- Service oriented.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent memory skills.
**Working Conditions**:
- Plant environment, PPE required.
- Standing and walking.
- Regular interaction with HR Team, Production Teams and production employees.
