Duties & Responsibilities:

- Provide counselling services and supports to individuals, groups, and families
- Assist clients in identifying issues and set counselling goals both short-term and long-term
- Integrate Traditional teachings and Traditional knowledge sharing, to strengthen Indigenous identity and capacity
- Determine appropriate interventions in consultation with client, and other care providers at AHT
- Perform chart reviews and attend case conferences
- Create safe, inclusive and welcoming space
- Manage a case load set by organizational standards
- Charting on daily basis and report writing Quarterly and annually

Qualifications & Experience:

- BSW and/or MSW or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
- Required to learn about Aboriginal culture, history, traditions, medicines and healing approaches
- Knowledge of Aboriginal culture, traditions, teachings and ceremonies; Aboriginal language skills an asset
- An understanding of the social determinants of health and other issues relevant to Aboriginal communities in Toronto; respect for Traditional Healing
- Strong understanding of professional ethics, including consent, confidentiality and boundaries
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team Anishnawbe Health Toronto Our mission: to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal People in spirit, mind, emotion and body by providing Traditional Healing within a multidisciplinary health care model.
- Thorough understanding of issues affecting and influencing Aborignal children/youth and their families/caregivers and community living in an urban setting
- Written skills and computer proficiency, including skill with word processing, presentations and electronic charting software

**Salary**: $62,000.00-$74,000.00 per year
