**Position Summary**
The Risk Analyst reports directly to the Risk Management Manager and assists with all aspects of traditional risk management including asset protection, liability management, claims management, and the maintenance of a comprehensive insurance program. The incumbent provides advice to schools and departments on a broad range of risk management issues to protect Edmonton Public Schools students, staff, and assets in a way that balances quality learning opportunities with the reduction of risk hazard. The incumbent should be well-versed in insurance industry standards, policies, and trends.
**Job Duties/Responsibilities**
- review all damage and loss reports for Division assets and recommend whether a claim is required
- notify the insurance broker, adjusters and insurance company of any possible insurance claims
- process proof of loss statements to insurance companies and adjusters to recover funds for insurance claims
- assist with third party property and liability claims
- provide support on evaluating high risk field trips for Division Support Services
- provide advice to the Infrastructure decision unit regarding tenders and contracts, high risk construction projects, and integrated project delivery
- assess and advise Purchasing and Contract Services of insurance coverage for vendor Certificates of Insurance approvals
- coordinate student accident and travel insurance claims on behalf of the Division
- assist in preparation of the interim and year end working papers for internal and external auditors as related to the Risk Management decision unit
- calculate insurance claims accruals and School Restitution schedules
- initiate purchase requisitions, service request orders, journal entries, and internal transfer vouchers for damage and loss claims develop and maintain strong working relationships with insurance brokerage partners

**Education/Qualifications**
- Related undergraduate degree such as a Bachelor of Commerce degree accompanied by Canadian Risk Management (CRM) certification or have a Canadian Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and/or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker certification
- minimum of three years related experience
- strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills

**Rate of Pay**
$46.38 - $59.27 per hour
