Pet Nutrition Specialist

As a technical expert in animal nutrition, this individual will report to the Vice President of Sales and work closely with the dog & cat consumables’ Animal Nutritionist and Brand Manager to support sales, customer service and marketing.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop an in-depth understanding of existing formulations and ingredients within the RCH portfolio.
- Work closely with the consumables department to create training materials/tools/presentations specifically targeted to each level of customers for current and new product launches.
- Conduct internal training sessions and customer seminars; able to communicate key points of difference by way of acquiring and maintaining knowledge of both our products as well as competitive products.
- Coordinate with the National Sales team to ensure all customers receive adequate support and training.
- Maintain the Consumables section of Hagen University.
- Support customer service on Consumables cases.
- Support Quality Assurance department.
- Participate in creating new nutrition-focused content for digital platforms as required.
- ‪Support sales and marketing efforts of domestic and international distributors as required.
- Support sales and brand at domestic and international tradeshows.

**Qualifications**

This person will have a good understanding of pet food, dog and cat nutritional requirements and will be comfortable speaking and presenting to an audience. Previous experience with consumers, sales or training is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in animal science/nutrition or related field, or similar level is required. Combination of education, experience and training will be considered.
- ‪At least 3 to 5+ years of experience in the dog and cat nutrition/animal health industry/pet industry.
- ‪Previous experience in sales and/or a technical service role introducing new products and concepts to targeted customers.
- ‪Ability to work in cross-functional teams to achieve company, customer, and product objectives.
- ‪Demonstrated success in training and public speaking.
- ‪Ability to travel when needed.
- ‪Strong project management skills.
- ‪Independent / takes initiative / self-starter.
- Bilingual French & English a requirement.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills - ability to build trust and respect with people of various backgrounds.
