**Summary**

Reporting to the Director of Fleet and Maintenance, the General Superintendent is responsible for the management of all sites under his responsibility. The mandate is to ensure the performance of the maintenance department at each site while identifying challenges and proposing strategic solutions.

The General Superintendent will be the main person responsible for identifying key processes to standardize the sites.

**Responsibilities**
- H&S AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT_
- Identify the critical elements of his sector with his supervisory teams
- Ensure the implementation and compliance with the activities of the site's health and safety prevention program
- Ensure compliance and respect of health and safety, standards, procedures and regulations
- Support the supervisory team in the implementation of safe and environmental work methods and practices and maintains good human relations while maximizing the profitability of the operation
- Approve and participate in risk analysis and maintenance procedures.
- MANAGEMENT_
- Primary player in personal management, communication of company performance and change management
- Ensure that the schedule is respected (calendar, dates, constraints, work methods)
- Responsible for validating the technical follow-up in place (data sheets, inspections, etc.)
- Responsible for resolving problematic situations
- Ensure the handling of emergencies at the different sites.
- Ensure the optimal use of manpower
- Work in partnership with the manufacturers of the various mobile equipment to develop best practices.
- COST CONTROL: _
- Participate in monthly budget tracking to identify risks and provide solutions for improvement.
- Suggest repair scenarios and strategies according to the company's needs/budget.
- Ensure through the approval process, that the repair work is performed at the best possible cost and the quality of the work is not compromised.
- Responsible for budgetary evaluations of investments required for major equipment repairs
- Ensure a follow-up on warranty for major components.
- SUPERVISION_
- Supervise, support and coach the personnel under his responsibility while respecting the policies and procedures in place (performance, absenteeism, training, coaching, etc.).
- Ensure that evaluations of his teams are carried out.
- Implement a development plan for his team.
- Implement a succession plan for all key positions on his teams.
- DOCUMENTATION AND WORK TRACKING: _
- Ensure work scheduling in conjunction with the senior planner.
- Ensure the fleet health book is updated.
- Participate in the identification and prioritization of work in collaboration with the senior planner.
- Participate in the documentation of shutdowns of 36 hours or more.

**Qualifications required**
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the field of maintenance of rolling stock.
- Continuous education in the field of supervision and preventive maintenance.
- Bilingualism (asset).

**Specific conditions**
- Schedule: 5-2 with the possibility of travelling to remote work sites
- Location: to be determined according to the place of residence, but the employee will cover projects in Ontario
- Lodging, food, remote bonus and travel bonus when working on remote sites.
