**Job brief**

We are looking for a General Labour to work on manual & automatic lathes to assist in our Roll Building Department. You’ll ensure the on-going efficiency of roll building and maintain the equipment to ensure product quality and production lead times are met.

The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried out smoothly to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

**Responsibilities**
- Works with safety in mind at all times and has a sound understanding of the OHSA.
- Operates equipment such as manual & automatic lathes.
- Operates all production equipment to company and OEM standards.
- Completes scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Prepares all parts in accordance to work order instructions, blueprints, diagrams and drawings.
- Follows all company process plans.
- Inspects parts with precision using a variety of measuring tools including dial indicators, diameter tapes, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Operates lifting devices such as cranes, hoists, forklifts.
- Use of hand and power tools
- Records all tasks using the company’s computer program.
- Maintains a clean and organized work center.
- Participates in job specific training.

**Requirements and skills**
- Proven lathe experience.
- Working understanding of lathe fundamentals including controls and how to adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).
- Working knowledge of precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, company processes, diagrams and drawings.
- Posses a valid forklift certificate is a plus.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Post secondary education, technical degree is a plus.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Machine operations: 2 years (preferred)
- Manual lathe: 2 years (preferred)
- Technical drawing: 1 year (preferred)
- Crane: 2 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (preferred)
