**About the School of Life Science & Business**

The School of Life Science & Business provides dynamic high-tech, hands-on learning opportunities in support of animal health, business and horticulture. The School is also home to the National Meat Training Centre and the Olds College Botanic Gardens. A variety of certificates, diplomas and applied degrees are granted from the School of Life Science & Business. Fields of study offered within the School of Life Science & Business are: Animal Health, Business, Equine, Horticulture, and the National Meat Training Centre.

**The Opportunity - Financial Administrator, School of Life Science & Business - permanent, full-time**

This position is an essential member of the School of Life Science and Business Leadership Team and requires a dynamic and organized individual who can collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

**Key Job Functions**:
Financial:

- Ensure the master budget file is accurate and updated after enrollment confirmation.
- Coordination of all contracts, expenses, and necessary documentation for staffing and purchasing.
- Reconcile financial data and make recommendations for efficiencies and program delivery.
- Serve as the financial liaison between departments and management, ensuring transparency and fiscal responsibility.
- Work with various departments to ensure all interdepartmental transactions are accurate and complete to ensure policy compliance.
- Coordinate payroll submissions - contracts, timesheets, and invoices, ensuring proper coding and accuracy of the hours according to contracts and agreements.
- Manage and prepare invoice requests based on operational requirements.
- Develop purchase requisitions based on the unique needs of educational programs and manage the process of acknowledging receipt of goods when received.
- Track and compile project budget reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.
- Educate and support team members on accurate and timely expense reporting in compliance with Olds College policies.
- Support year-end financial processes to ensure deadlines are met and accurate information is provided regarding deferrals, accruals, and any other transactions affecting year-end.
- Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of department corporate credit card transactions and ensure proper coding.

Administrative:

- Primary administrator for student knowledge portal registration systems (vendor portals), including setting up, modifying, and closing class registrations.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

**Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required**:

- Post-Secondary education in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business and/or Financial Management) is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in a financial role or other related experience.
- Experience in a post-secondary environment setting would be a definite asset.
- Demonstrates an aptitude toward technology and advanced skills using Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A willingness to learn and/or maintain current knowledge of relevant technology is required.
- Experience with computerized accounting systems, as well as manual accounting, is a definite asset.
- Evidence of the ability to work both collaboratively with a team as well as independently
- Strong organization and time management skills as well as an eye for detail.
- Presents a positive, professional image and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills.
