**SUMMARY**

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for the performance of a variety of accounting duties from calculations to customer communication and payments. Responsibilities will include receiving, verifying, recording and processing customer payments, and invoicing. This position requires strong ethics, attention to detail and good time management.*

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES*
- Enter the payment received from customers (checks, credit card payments and EFT) in the AR program
- Maintain AR customer files and records, including running credit checks and reviewing credit limits
- Check figures, invoices, postings, and documents for correct entry and mathematical accuracy
- Send out customer statements
- Communicate with customers that are past due and review AR aging
- Record and report discrepancies found in customer invoices
- Comply with current federal, provincial, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
- Assist with generating reports
- Assist in additional accounts payable and accounts receivable duties as assigned
**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Business Accounting Certificate or equivalent education preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in accounting required
- Knowledge of accounting principles and guidelines
- Technical ability to understand accounting software and learn company programs as required
- High level of personal integrity
- Strong ethical standards
- Ability to use discretion in decision making within predetermined limits and procedures
- Ability to create and modify word-processed documents using Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to read and understand specialized material
- Good communication skills
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy
