**Position Summary**

Marlene VanderSpek, Barrister & Solicitor is looking for an independent, reliable, highly motivated Legal Assistant/Law Clerk to join her family law firm. You will be joining part of our growing team.

Applicants must be enthusiastic, motivated, able to meet deadlines, able to multi-task and prioritize. Attention to detail is important.

**Responsibilities**:
Managing front desk reception, answering incoming calls, schedule and confirm appointments/meetings, act as liaison between clients and clerk/lawyer and other reception duties as needed.

Performing various administrative duties including organizing and managing family law files, tracking dates, preparing correspondence, drafting legal documents, attend to court filings as needed, photocopying/faxing and other administrative duties as required.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Certificate as Law Clerk or Legal Assistant
- Previous experience in family law is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are a must
- Exceptional interpersonal and client service skills, strong initiative and ability to work independently as well as in a team oriented environment
- Knowledge of PC Law and Microsoft Office required, (knowledge of Divorcemate, PC law, or Willbuilder is an asset)
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to work overtime when necessary and flexibility to work with changing priorities

**Required**:

- Law Clerk/Legal Assistant experience: 2+ years

**Salary**: $35,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
