We are seeking a highly motivated junior algorithmic trader with a strong technical background to join our dynamic foreign exchange trading team. As an electronic foreign exchange (eFX) trader, you will collaborate with developers and fellow traders to supervise and optimize algorithmic trading strategies. You will also play a crucial role in the development of cutting-edge analytical tools and quantitative models.

This position is primarily in-person at our trading floor in Montreal. Being a collaborative team player, having a passion for financial markets and excelling in a high-pressure environment are essential attributes for success in this role.

Your role

• Conduct empirical research on topics such as volatility forecasting, cross-assets correlation and market impact. Transform statistical evidence into actionable insights for market-making. Assess models performance and recalibrate them depending on market conditions.
• Monitor live trading systems and manage operational risks inherent to a fast-moving automated trading business
• Generate ideas to improve automated pricing logics and risk management strategies by using intuition and a statistical approach
• Collaborate with developers to implement proof-of-concepts into trading algorithms
• Engage with sales force to optimize algorithmic interactions with client flows

**Qualifications**

• Bachelor and or Master’s degree completed in a quantitative field such as math, computer science, engineering or computational finance with 0-2 years of work experience
• Demonstrated passion for financial markets and macroeconomics
• Strong interest in data sciences with proven experiences working with quantitative methods on large datasets
• Solid knowledge of Python, Linux and general development principles
• Thinker and doer, you can conceptualize solutions and execute them
• Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues
• Detail-oriented individual who can work independently while managing multiple priorities
• Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will frequently serve clients who speak a language other than French
