**Responsibilities**:

- Manufacturing and inspecting detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, boring mills, drill presses, saw and other machining equipment) and using mathematical and geometrical calculations
- Determining how to set up and operate machines based on instructions received.
- Performing minor repairs of equipment
- Keeping work area clean and free from safety hazards
- Maintaining acceptable quality and efficiency level
- Using measuring or layout tools such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, height master, gauge blocks, angle plates, V- blocks, bore and pitch gauges, protractors, squares and dividers

**Expectations**:

- 5 years machine shop experience and/or have completed a recognized apprenticeship as a General Machinist.
- Ability to setup, and operate CNC machines considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work from work order routing sheets

**Must have**:

- Must have manual lathe experience.
- Milling and boring experience
- Must meet security requirements (CGP)
- Must be able to set up and use machine shop power and pneumatic tools
- Must be able to design and manufacture fixtures and template
- Must be able to make own layouts as per drawing
- Must be able to understand GD&T tolerances
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, plate clamps and slings
