The Distribution Center Warehouse Person is responsible for accurately and quickly servicing a very demanding client base while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in the industry. Outside pipe and fittings pickers are required to work in all climate conditions, must be capable of lifting 50 pounds repeatedly, must possess knowledge and skill in FIFO principals, as well as RF scanning equipment and be prepared to meet any challenge.

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Be able to operate forklift equipment effectively and safely;
- Perform duties within the RF processes in place;
- Accurately pick, stage and load freight;
- Execute work in the prescribed sequence so deliver-by-date is met;
- Work proficiently to meet Productivity, Quality and Safety targets;
- Load/unload Flatbed and Dry Van trucks;
- Maintain strict housekeeping standards;
- Report unsafe work conditions/environment in a timely basis;
- Commit to the success of the team.

**Requirements**:

- Completion of high-school;
- Safely operate various forklift equipment;
- Ability to meet daily deadlines and to work in an environment where assignments and work priorities are reviewed several times a day;
- Must be able to use RF technology;
- Must be functional in English (or French, in Quebec DCs).

**INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS**:

- Daily communications with Shippers and other Order Pickers, to insure proper workflow and to provide support for load set-up and picking requirements;
- Daily interactions with both customers and drivers.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Moderate requirement of physical activities producing physical stress and fatigue, posture changes and visual attentiveness;
- Work involves both routine and non-routine tasks within well-defined standards
- Order picking involves at times performing in unfavorable or difficult climate conditions (extreme heat in the summer for both inside and yard order pickers, and rain/snow fall for yard pickers);
- Order pickers need to be prepared and equipped to perform despite difficult work conditions;
- Workers must follow the rules in place as described in the Employee Handbook and Corporate guidelines.
- The incumbent understands, respects, and adheres to the workplace health and safety rules and regulations.
