From facilities delivering life-saving therapies and ensuring clean water to enabling the connection of people through all modes of transportation and providing access to technology - we're integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build the smart environments of tomorrow._ - Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed - today and into tomorrow._ **Your Impact**: Responsibilities for this role include: - Support environmental planning and permitting work with a multi-disciplinary team throughout the life cycle of a project. - Oversee the preparation of environmental assessments, permit and regulatory filings, and environmental management plans. - Supporting engagement efforts with Indigenous communities, stakeholders and regulatory agencies. - Establish and maintain relationships with members of the public, government and non-government communities, associations, tenure holders and Indigenous communities. - In a collaborative manner, develop and expand our client portfolio, including support for Business Development and proposal efforts. - Develop staff through on-the-job mentorship. - Be a Safety Leader for the project and promote Jacobs Beyond Zero and our culture of caring. **Here’s What You’ll Need**: - B.Sc. (required) or M.Sc. (preferred) in a Natural Resources related field (biology, ecology, forestry, or geography) - Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience in the natural resources sector in Canada, preferably in Ontario and in a consulting environment. - Strong technical writing skills is required. Ideally You’ll Also Have / Be Able To: - Familiarity with environmental acts, such as the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, National Energy Board Act, Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, and the Public Lands Act is considered an asset. - Experience seeing major projects from planning through construction considered an asset. - Diverse experience and enjoy a challenge and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. - Experience working on Provincially regulated projects in Ontario, including a strong understanding of permitting energy development projects regulated by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). - Experience working on federally regulated energy projects in eastern Canada, including experience working on projects regulated by the National Energy Board and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). - Construction based environmental monitoring experience is an asset. - High level of initiative and problem-solving. - Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills with proficiency in written and spoken English to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and prepare technical reports. - Ability to work on multiple projects with strong organizational and time management skills. - Demonstrated ability to work under mínimal supervision. - A demonstrated interest in environmental assessments and regulatory systems in Canada with a desired to grow in the field. - At Jacobs, we’re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world’s most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
