The Product Data Administrator is a critical business role at Allegion Canada with a focus on analyzing and structuring product data. Tasks include data maintenance on items, Bill of Materials (BOM), contract pricing, customer master, etc. As Product Data Administrator with us, you will utilize business analysis skills in a fast-paced manufacturing / distribution setting. You will also get the chance to work on analyzing price books and participate in cross-functional projects with the business & information technology. Our Product Data Administrator can expect to work closely with the Senior Product Data Administrators, Order Entry, Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, and Information Technology.
What you will do
- Support the business through data administration and configuration for the following types of activities:
- Item maintenance
- Retail cross-reference table maintenance
- Contract pricing maintenance
- Bill of Material (BOM) maintenance
- Customer master maintenance
- Vendor master maintenance
- Price book alignment / administration
- Business and information technology projects
- Contribute to new product launches through product data configuration.
- Leverage databases to help the business with insights and reporting.
- Analyzing and challenging existing processes and assumptions to help define the best solutions to meet the current and future business needs
What you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 1-3 years of proven experience within a manufacturing company
- 1-3 years of data administration / configuration experience
- 1-3 years of experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP)
- Experience with MAPICS ERP (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others in person and remotely
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills with all levels. Proven ability to lead and communicate orally, in written documents, and in formal presentations is required.
- Team player, change agent, and customer-driven mentality
- Analytical approach to problem-solving, solid conceptual skills and willingness to learn, sense of urgency and commitment for a job well done.
- Strong work ethic, results oriented
- Basic familiarity with relational databases (MS-SQL) and client-servers concepts
