Job Description What is the opportunity? At RBC Insurance, we are transforming how Data and AI shaped the way we serve clients, advisors, and operations teams across our value chain. From data platforms to AI copilots from underwriting to claims, our Data and AI product team helps design and deliver the workflows and insights that drive impact across the business. As a Product Owner, you will join a growing team of product professionals dedicated to building high-quality, scalable, and meaningful Data and AI solutions. This role is ideal for someone with a few years of relevant experience, ready to deepen their product craft, build confidence in execution, and learn how to shape outcomes through discovery, stakeholder alignment, and delivery excellence. You will support squads end-to-end, contributing to discovery, owning and refining your backlog, and helping move ideas from concept to production. You will also gain hands‑on exposure to modern data platforms and emerging LLM-based AI systems. What will you do? Support product managers to understand business needs, shape problem statements, and translate ideas into clear user stories and delivery requirements. Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other agile rituals in collaboration with a Scrum Master, ensuring priorities are clear and delivery is aligned to outcomes. Collaborate with technology, engineering, analytics, data science, governance and business stakeholders to define MVPs, manage trade‑offs, and enable delivery. Participate to continuous discovery approach by setting workshops, user interviews, solution framing, and testing sessions. Contribute to initiative planning, roadmap maintenance, and cross squad coordination. Track and communicate delivery progress, risks, and outcomes across stakeholders. Work closely with analysts and engineers to support product performance tracking and usage insights. Help maintain and develop product artifacts and documentation in JIRA, Confluence, and team spaces. What will you need to succeed? Must have 2 to 5 years of experience as a product manager or product owner within a data‑heavy product environment. Experience working on modern data platforms (i.e., Snowflake, Databricks or GCP). Strong foundation in Agile delivery, including backlog management, refinement and sprint planning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to distill complex inputs into clear, actionable requirements. Ability to operate in ambiguity and help clarify needs across business, technical and operational teams. Comfortable working across cross‑functional squads and managing competing priorities. Nice to have Exposure to advanced analytics concepts (semantic layer, metrics store, ontology and domain modeling, data contracts, etc.) Experience supporting product discovery or continuous delivery in insurance, financial services, or B2B SaaS. Familiarity with modern data architecture, data governance, or data product principles. Experience using JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools to manage product workflows. Interest in progressing toward a full product management role overtime. What’s in it for you?
