**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure Forbes ongoing effort to improve workplace safety is carried out & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
- Plan daily activities, assess site hazards, ensure hazards are eliminated and/or controlled and communicated to all workers on site
- Ability to read prints for site layouts and various structure types, including wood
- Repairing, removing, and replacing distribution structures on both energized and de-energized lines
- Slack/tension string overhead conductor, sets poles, and anchors
- Frequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others
- Understands and can develop grounding procedures and install/remove grounding safety on de-energized circuits
- Working from heights and confined spaces
- Inspect and maintain live line tools and equipment for daily work activities
- Properly installing line switches, in-line floaters, in-line disconnects, modify switches, also install and remove jumpers from clearance points
- Ability to climb different types of structures and possess the necessary tools to do so
- Working on energized transmission lines from 60kv up to 500kv
- Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
- Certification - Journeyman Live Line Technician
- Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience working in the trade, knowledge of distribution systems preferred
- Have and maintain a valid Class 3 drivers license and acceptable drivers abstract
- Flexible in hours worked throughout a shift and week
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Able to lift 25kg or more throughout a work shift in a physically demanding work environment that involves bending, crouching, kneeling and climbing at heights
- Must be able to distinguish between colours
- Ability to take and execute instructions and duties assigned to you
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member while equally motivated working independently
