Bright Choices Program Facilitator

**The Role**
The Bright Choices Program Facilitator contributes to the overall success of LFY by bringing their expertise and experience to the organization, effectively. The emphasis of this role will be to assist youth with the completion of their current school year and working within our Bridging The Gap summer tutoring program.
- developing and implementing programs for youth in the community,
- administering and delivering programs for youth,
- documenting and evaluating these programs,
- developing appropriate programs accordingly in response to those needs, and
- taking on special projects as required.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Attend Liberty For Youth programming as outlined.
- Assist with ‘Bridging The Gap’ summer tutoring program (July & August).
- Communicate effectively with youth to determine their needs and interests, as well as with all other individuals interacted with at LFY.
- Remain acutely aware of the needs of the youth as a priority while effectively managing communications with all others involved.
- Communicate with the Program Facilitators to determine needs and interests of youth.
- Research community agencies so youth in the programs can participate in community activities and “give back” to the community, as well as introducing youth to volunteer opportunities and completing community projects.
- Assist in completion of youth intake forms.
- Assist in completion of program log sheets.
- Event set-up & preparation
- Communicate with program participants to coordinate pick-up schedule.
- Work with program evaluators as needed (ex. assist in completing online RBC Surveys, evaluation research forms and reports etc.)
- Ensure program information is accessible to appropriate individuals and concerned parties without breaching confidentiality.
- Maintains an effective, fluid communication network for the programs and youth services.
- Perform other related duties as required (ex. Attend fundraising events and adjust duties to best suit the success of the event. Since the changing nature of the work and the present environment in which we operate, responsibilities and duties may require adjustment to the job description)
- Ensure program vehicles are kept clean and maintained according to health & safety procedures.
- Ensure program areas are cleaned on a weekly basis.

- Effective written communications skills
- Time management and multi-tasking skills
- Experience working within the arena of disadvantaged youth and youth at risk an asset
- Having a G-Class Ontario driver’s license is not required, but is an asset

- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
**Working Conditions**
- Deliver programs in a variety of locations (Ex. court, detention centres, community gym, Liberty For Youth centre etc.)
- Transport, lift and carry equipment and supplies,
- Be able to work in court, detention centres, and or crisis situation.
- Spend some time sitting possibly for a number of hours, using office equipment including computers,
- Strong knowledge in sports, recreation, and activities.
- Knowledge of our city and a good understanding of directions
