**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) is the third largest school division in Manitoba with more than 17,500 students across 41
schools and a staff of more than 4,300, including Teachers, Educational Assistants, Support, Casual, and Substitute employees.

Reporting to the Superintendent & CEO, the Assistant Superintendent of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) will
provide leadership and guidance in all divisional diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility matters.

The Assistant Superintendent of DEIA will play a critical role in the development, implementation, and coordination of divisional
programs such as improving outcomes for marginalized K-12 learners through implementation of systemic evidence-informed
collaborative inquiry cycles and job-embedded professional learning for LRSD.

The Assistant Superintendent of DEIA role will include supporting the implementation of a multi-year strategic plan focused on
anti-racism/anti-oppressive education, and restorative practices and the development of a comprehensive accessibility plan.

This individual will provide support and guidance to the Dakota Collegiate and Nelson McIntyre Collegiate families of schools.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:
The role encompasses instructional, managerial, and leadership functions related to the following activities:

- Advance, support, implement and sustain the division’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan.
- Advance and support key instructional and staffing practices to support student learning and well-becoming.
- Advance and support staff engagement and well-becoming.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and school administration to develop policy, inform planning, support
- professional learning and pedagogical practice.
- Support the development and implementation of on-going equity-based curriculum and policy review processes to further
- anti-racist/anti-bias/anti-oppressive education and decolonization.
- Provide leadership and management in the portfolios of DEIA, which will include the implementation of divisional policy
- and legislation.
- Provide direction on Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Anti-Racism, policies, programs, and legislative requirements for the
- Division.
- Represent the Division with various groups including community organizations.
- Support the cocreation of initiatives to address issues of systemic racism in a proactive, capacity building, and systematic
- way.
- Collaborate with the Data Literacy Coordinator to expand and improve equity-based outcome data collection and analysis.
- Provide support as the liaise Assistant Superintendent to one family of schools.

**QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)**:

- Masters Degree in Education, and/or post-secondary degree with a focus on DEIA, or another related area of study.
- Permanent Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
- Minimum of 10 years of successful school administrative experience.
- Knowledge of pertinent provincial accessibility legislation.
- Strong leadership and management functions.
- Effective supervision of various employee groups.
- Demonstrated experience in providing professional development, supervision, and curriculum implementation.
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills that includes team motivation, support, and capacity building.
- Effective interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational and change management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively on a leadership team.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise appropriate dimensions of authority and perform management functions.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills in both English and French an asset.
