**Quality Assurance and Quality Control Specialist - Job Description**

Yumi Organics is looking for a Qualilty Assurance and Quality Control with experience in Consumer Packaged Food industry. We are looking for a very highly organized and detail oriented individual who is able to oversee our QA/QC and work hand in hand with our production and product development team. We hope to find an individual who is a meticulous and detailed, a fast learner, problem solver, strong team player and able to work autonomously.

Our vision is to become _the_ brand name known for Overnight Oats and to build out this subcategory of cereal as the number one leading brand. We are currently sold in over 3000+ retail stores across Canada, including Walmart, Loblaws, Metro, Save on Foods and Sobeys. Our products are also sold on Amazon and our own E-commerce platforms. Our territories to focus on this year is the US and Australian Markets.

We are a Montreal-based Overnight Oats company founded by a certified nutritionist, whose goal is to make healthy eating easy, fun and delicious, starting with the most important meal of the day: breakfast ;) We are the first in Canada to launch a line of Overnight Oats to retail, and we are very excited to be the first to launch a line of Probiotic Trail Mixes & Super Seeds in Canada as well

THE POSITION:
The main duties of this role is to oversee QA and QC of our products. The role is not in a production facility, a documentation and lab test management role. Reports to the Production Manager and Product Development Manager.
- Builds and manages quality assurance procedures around all product lines;
- Strong ability to build and enforce SOPs;
- Perform quality assurance checks on each production and support production team;
- Perform finished goods receiving QC procedures;
- Maintain and manage all QC documentation from each run;
- Ensure great traceability in case of recall;
- Ability to manage and control situations of recall and identify issues;
- Internal quality control checks on samples from each production run;
- Maintain certifications and all documentation required for Kosher, Organic, Non-GMO, Whole Grains Counsel;
- Work with production team to avoid production loss;
- Support Food Safety Program and all CFIA compliance measures;
- Onboard new products for QA & QC standards and add to certifications;
- Occassional facility on site QA/QC visits;
- Supports product development team and is involved in executing product development direction.

- Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite;
- Fluent English speaker and communication skills, French speaking a plus;
- Must have experience in the food industry;
- Food science background a plus;
- Minimum 3 years experience.
