Mangrove Lithium, a Vancouver based company, has developed a breakthrough platform for the most cost-effective production of battery grade lithium hydroxide and carbonate from diverse input streams and assets. Mangrove’s modular solution can be scaled to any capacity and co-located with upstream lithium producers or cathode and cell manufacturers. The platform technology is being commercialized for the conversion of waste brines to chemicals and desalinated water. The company recently attracted funding through Breakthrough Energy, BMW i Ventures, and BDC Capital and is working towards the deployment of a first-of-a-kind commercial plant.
Location: Hybrid position with a minimum of 3 days per week required at the Delta location.
**Position**
We are looking for a Generalist to support HR going into a high growth phase. Your primary duty will be recruiting and onboarding a technical team ranging from technicians up to senior engineering positions.
In addition, you will develop programs to promote and support ongoing learning and professional development of employees. You will also provide direction to managers and company executives on HR policies, procedures, practices and legislation; administer compensation programs, performance management programs, recruitment and succession planning, training, as well as a few other people related processes and activities.
**Responsibilities**
- Recruits and selects a variety of people: engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and administration.
- Implements human resources strategies, initiatives and programs that effectively support the core values of the company.
- Coordinates the performance management process ensuring performance appraisals are done on time and are consistent with core values.
- Ensures that monetary and non-monetary compensation is competitive with the marketplace and internal equity is achieved.
- Provides a source of confidential guidance and counsel to managers and staff concerning policies, practices, performance and conflict resolution
- Manages internal and external training programs: determines training needs, implements training programs and follow-up to ensure effectiveness of training programs.
- Handles of all aspects of HR administration: tracking probations, new employee orientations, collection of survey information, etc.
**Skills & Qualifications**
- Education: Degree in Business Administration, preferably with a concentration in Human Resources.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years' experience in a generalist HR position in a technology-based company, with a focus on recruitment
- Excellent interviewing skills
- Good oral and written communication
- Ability to work with a senior management team to implement policies and ensure compliance.
- Excellent employee relations skills
- Knowledge of Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation.
- Knowledge of compensation analysis and salary administration.
