**Job Summary**
Branch 133, Legion Village Inc is located in the downtown area of Cobourg. There are 199 apartments and over 200 wonderful older adults living here. We have both independent and assisted living units and provide services such as dining, housekeeping, daily activities and personal support workers for those that are in the program.

We are seeking an experienced Activities Coordinator who enjoys working with older adults, is highly organized and has the skills to carry out the daily responsibilities.

**Responsibilities**
- implements and sets up daily activities
- organizes and schedules volunteers for social events
- manages Golden Rail Pub, including replenishing supplies
- creates monthly activity calendar and schedules entertainment
- assists with fund raising events
- monitors supplies and replenishes, including shopping
- arranges religious and devotional activities
- assists with resident transport at meal time
- covers reception when required
- other duties as assigned

**Experience**
- Post secondary education in Recreation or Leisure studies, Therapeutic recreation or Social Services diploma from a community college or university
- Previous experience in a similar role within nursing homes or senior care environments is preferred.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certificate
- Valid Safe Food Handlers certificate
- Valid Smart Serve certificate
- GPA certificate an asset
- Experience with older adults either in an assisted living facility, long-term care or retirement home setting.
- Compassionate, patient and understanding when working with older adults with different needs
