**Associate Buyer **to join
**The Competencies**:
**GREAT PRODUCT**: - Full cycle management of assigned product classes; merging traditional Buyer and Assistant Buyer responsibilities
- Developing category / departmental merchandising strategies; translating and interpreting fashion and trends to suit the customer as sales needs evolve. Identifying key trends and maximizing opportunities to achieve continued growth and profitability (product flow, pricing, cancelation, re-order, exit strategies). Working closely with the General Merchandise Manager to obtain approval at key decision points. Participating in product fittings and approvals, and working with our product development team to meet standards throughout the development process. Creating and maintaining win-win relationships with our vendors; negotiating to meet the needs of the business while securing long term partnerships. Collaborating with Marketing and Visual Merchandising teams to promote and display our merchandise in a way that excites our customers and encourages retail sales. Follow up with internal and external partners to ensure the product cycle deadlines are being met. - Develop understanding of assigned categories through brand customer, product knowledge, store visits, and competitor awareness.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary degree in Retail Management or Fashion; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
- Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines with mínimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills - collaborative, a team player
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task or shift between projects seamlessly
