**Head Camp Coordinator - RISE Regenerative Farm & Forest Camp**

Provenance Farmis a regenerative smart farm on 46 acres near Woodstock Ontario who focuses on animal welfare, environment and soil health, food quality, as well as social welfare through the donation of 11% to food banks. It was co-founded by Andrew and Eliana Witchell.

This year the farm is launching _**RISE Regenerative Farm & Forest Camp**_, an outdoor full-day program focused on offering campers the opportunity to get outside, make friends, learn about regenerative farming and farming science, build outdoor skills, appreciate nature and have fun. Themed weekly camps are anchored in geology, ecology, regenerative farm practices, STEAM, outdoor skills, and nature appreciation and will encourage campers to be curious and creative.

**What we are looking for**:a friendly, child-engaging, reliable individual who can oversee and successfully run all aspects of our summer camps, engage with the children, ensure they make friends and connect with nature, while also representing the farm.

This position would be full time for 7 weeks through July and August, with potential to extend to to March Break, PA days, and school field trip programming throughout the year.

**Job Overview**:
Manages the RISE Regenerative Farm & Forest Summer Day Camps. Has oversight responsibilities for curriculum-based program planning, program delivery and administration.

Oversees approximately 16 campers per week ranging from 6 to 12 years of age, while supervising and coaching up to 5 staff including, counsellors, and volunteers.

Ensures consistency in camp policies and processes including training and communication in conjunction with Andrew & Eliana

Through strategic leadership and programming, enables children and youth to develop skills, make friends, socialize and build self-esteem. Accountable for day-to-day operations under the guidance of the (Director/Andrew & Eliana), ensuring camp activities are safe, educational, inclusive, high quality and meets RISE Regenerative Farm & Forest overall goals and abides by relevant policies and legislation.

**Responsibilities**

Day To Day
- Provides daily direction and support to camp supervisors and camp staff as required. Plans and schedules camp staff resources, routines, schedules and procedures to ensure successful program delivery.
- Oversees daily activities across the camp(s), ensuring programming is effective and adapted to camper needs with regards to safety, hygiene, weather, breaks etc.
- Oversees the development, implementation of STEAM, history and environment-based educational day camp programs, with an emphasis on farm life, simple machines, urban nature, archaeology, art, ecology, têxtiles and outdoor skills.
- Prioritizes child well-being, safety and protection throughout the camp(s). Evaluates situations for potential risks to the safety, protection and well-being of campers and staff, proactively taking mitigating actions to address such risks. (dynamic risk assessments and daily risk evaluations across site)
- Acts as a leader role model, fostering a positive learning environment where people feel included as members of a team and are motivated to work towards common goals.
- Serves as an ambassador for the Farm liaising with staff/parents/campers and resolving any issues with the support of the Director.
- Provides regular updates and feedback to the Director
- Plans and implements camp staff training. Plays a leadership role in camp preparations as well as regular meetings.
- Ensures adherence of policies and procedures working closely with other staff to ensure consistency under the guidance of the Director

STAFF Management
- Provides on-going training, coaching and recognition to staff and volunteers. Provides regular feedback and completes formal performance assessments for all direct reports. Will assist with recruitment and screening of camp staff.
- Staff meetings
- Assist with interviewing, selecting, training and evaluation of camp staff and volunteers.

Supplies & Preparation
- Controls supplies and tool inventory for sessions, ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for days activities
- Oversees and manages camp purchases and budget in accordance with policies and budget.
- Demonstrates the confidence and ability to make decisions independently of peers and in the best interests of the campers. Resolves problems and conflicts effectively as they arise.
- Dynamic and zone risk assessments
- Reports all incidents promptly and thoroughly to the Director using incident/accident report forms and processes. Maintains camp documentation, including registration information, attendance records, permission and waiver forms and timesheets.
- Completes a full report on the camp session including feedback and recommendations to the Director at the conclusion of the summer.
