We are looking for a rising creator to join us as Social Video Strategist, to help in our mission of building engaged audiences.
We’re looking for a bright and innovative video producer, who loves hybrid roles that combine strategy, execution, and brand collaboration. As Social Video Strategist on SJC’s Audience Development team, you’ll serve as the in-house expert for social video content, partnering with our editorial teams to develop fit-for-platform content that’s relevant, informed and experimental. You’ll work to build a scalable video strategy for our social platforms to engage our online communities across our media brands including **_Toronto Life, Maclean’s, Chatelaine_**_, _and_ _**_FASHION_**.**
You’ll be a crucial member of our new Audience Development team as we engage new audiences, tell compelling stories, and drive customer growth on new channels. You might be called a social strategist, content creator, or something totally different, but if any of those sound like you, we’d love to get to know you.
This is a unique opportunity to work in-house across multiple owned brands to shape social and video content that reach tens of millions of people. We’re looking for a video strategist and creator with deep experience producing on TikTok and Instagram that can effectively shoot, edit and produce. You need to also love jumping into data and trends, as reporting on social health metrics to our brands will be part of your role.
**The main aspects of this role will involve**:
- Support and scale video content across our social platforms to exponentially impact audience engagement- Partner with editorial to plan, test, create and measure performance of social videos- Effectively contribute to multiple brands in the same week and be able to support different audience goals- Report on social performance across all platforms and share wins among brands- Work with a wide range and quality of video and static imagery—from a collection of photography, short video clips, and animations—and turn them into content assets built for specific platforms and audiences- Create original video content for TikTok both natively and outside the app.
- Collaborate with our editorial teams to create and alter video, gifs, short clips, streaming stories, etc.

**Required experience, knowledge, and skills**:
- You can create and produce video content on your own across different platforms.- Expert skills in video producing, sound editing, and social copywriting.- Eager to continue to evolve skills in social-first video content: mobile creator aps and in-app editing (TikTok video editing, IG stories, etc.).- Able to manage and prioritize a wide array of tasks without compromising the general level of creativity.- Work with a wide range and quality of video and static imagery - from a collection of photography, short video clips, and animations - and turn them into content assets built for specific platforms and audiences.- Comfortable working with numbers, measuring performance and reporting on and identifying trends.
- Can proactively identify opportunities for growth in trending topics, editorial stories and formats.
