As a key member of the CPSW team, reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer in the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences on the Brantford campus of Wilfrid Laurier University, the primary role of the Project Co-ordinator is to oversee the management of the Mental Health Crisis Response Education and Applied Training program (MHCR), identify priorities and goals, develop and execute implementation plans, and mobilize resources to meet the immediate and long-term goals of the MHCR. The Project Co-ordinator is responsible for MHCR communications, budget management, project timelines and deliverables, event coordination and the successful execution of the training related to MHCR. The MHCR is a hybrid, scenario-based curriculum that offers an evidence-based, standardized training protocol on de-escalation and mental health crisis response for police services, with the objective to further develop de-escalation and communication strategies, mental health awareness, empathy, and cultural safety for police response to citizens in a mental health crisis. As of April 1, 2024, the Ministry of the Solicitor General has mandated that all police officers in Ontario complete this training annually in compliance with Ontario Regulation 87/24 and MHCR is mandatory as part of the basic constable training course at the Ontario Police College. **Accountabilities**: **PLAN/IMPLEMENT**: - Identify project priorities of MHCR and develop short, medium, and long-term goals and workplans - Anticipate and mobilize resources needed to support the goals of MHCR - Create, monitor, and update project budgets - Develop and implement protocols and best practices for all phases of MHCR - Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget - Develop a records management system and processes to track and communicate successful program completion. - Day to day guidance of the Registration and Administrative Coordinator and the Program Logistics Coordinator **MANAGE**: - Oversee the progress of MHCR, in pursuit of meeting medium and long-term goals, by maintaining administrative and logistic processes, anticipate and problem-solve difficulties to ensure the integrity and completeness of training, and address any team issues promptly. - Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders - Manage finances of MHCR by reconciling projected budgets against actual expenses (e.g. accessing financial information in Laurier’s Millennium and Banner online systems) - Monitor project progress regularly to ensure project milestones are completed within allotted timelines and budgets. - Work with management to prepare project plan, budget and schedules. - Create and maintain data bases for the purposes of tracking activities including participation, completeness, and ministry reporting - Maintain the MHCR website and con
