We are currently seeking a diligent, growth-oriented Quality Analyst (or Lab Technician, depending on experience and education) to join our team. As a key member of the Quality team, the Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring that Heritage is meeting our customers’ product specifications and exceeding their expectations with respect to product quality. The role will determine customer requirements, assess internal capabilities, develop, and implement quality systems, and drive continuous improvement.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform inspection and processing of samples using lab instrumentation
- Maintain lab and equipment
- Determine customer expectations by developing relationships and documenting requirements
- Refine quality system to incorporate customer specifications and key process variables
- Develop and maintain product/process specifications, Standard Operating Procedures
- Participate in new product introduction, especially as it pertains to process capability
- Audit data collection for completeness, accuracy, conformance to specifications
- Utilize quality tools to assess conformance to specifications and to build quality into the process and improve capability (SPC, root cause analysis, Design of Experiments, CPK reports, FMEA, etc.)
- Initiate, investigate and participate in corrective and preventative action to address product, process and system non-conformances
- Develop and report on KPI’s as they relate to quality
- Evaluate, analyze and close customer complaints
- Drive QA development and continuous improvement
- Maintain safe working conditions and follow all safety rules
- Report all major or minor food safety and quality deviations to personnel with authority to initiate action
- Backup other staff within department
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities as required

- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel (advanced), visual communication (graphs, Powerpoint).
- Statistics proficiency (sampling, standard deviation, CPK, etc.)

**Education/Experience Desired**:

- Certified Quality Engineer or Quality or Lab Technician diploma/degree
- Familiarity with Food industry (HACCP, GFSI, SQF, FSMA/SFCR, BRC, or equivalent)
- Continuous improvement experience (Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, etc.) an asset
- Exposure to basic lab environment an asset
- Previous implementation of quality software an asset
