a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. We are looking for positive, enthusiastic, and friendly individuals to deliver memorable experiences to our customers. WHAT WE ARE HIRING FOR Summer Sport Camp Instructors
- Skateboard & Scooter
- these are half-day, multi-week camps during July and August. WHY WORK FOR US? You will be an integral part of our dedicated Sports Instructor team who continually strive to make a difference in the recreation and cultural lives of North Vancouver residents by providing excellent customer service experiences. We are currently looking for instructors who can teach skateboarding and scootering primarily in the Parkgate Skateboard Park. ABOUT YOU You are an energetic and highly motivated individual who is able to teach introductory skateboarding and scootering skills, and skateboard park safety & etiquette. You are a team player who is committed to community. You are reliable, responsive to customer needs and excellent at building relationships. You are courteous and effective with the public and enjoy working with a diverse group of people and instructing in a safe and friendly manner. You will be responsible for lesson planning and delivery of quality instruction to school-age children and youth. NVRC sport instructors promote the principles of physical literacy and include the development of fundamental movement skills in each class. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age, with an athletic aptitude, a competent skateboarder and familiar with Skateboard Park participation. Experience planning and leading lessons or camps an asset. A current Emergency First Aid certification or equivalent 8-hour course is required. HOURLY RATE: The pay for this casual position ranges between $18.72
