**Duties and Essential Job Functions**:

- Safely carry out all duties assigned to ensure compliance with all Health & Safety requirements
- Assist in generating 2D schematics and 3D assembly models to capture hydraulic and mechanical layout, electrical functionality, and design of Hydraulic Power Units and Manifolds according to company and industry standard practices
- Work with designers to ensure deliverables meet proposed product specifications to determine feasibility with customer’s requirements
- Confer with engineering, customer and/or sales to clarify or resolve issues & details not defined
- Create technical manuals for Hydraulic Power Units
- Assist senior staff with assembly BOM entry and pricing support
- Assist and support shop with build, testing, and troubleshooting of hydraulic power units
- Work closely with the shop to capture and document design deviations or design corrections
- Ensure general assembly drawings and schematics match the final unit build
- Ensure documentation is completed on time with production schedule
- Continuously make suggestions and work towards drafting practice optimization and improving efficiency
- Implement 5S initiatives in the shop and/or office
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Related experience with hydraulics system design, experience with hydraulic schematics, and actual hands-on start-up and troubleshooting experience is an asset.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree in progress or demonstrated equivalent via formal training and experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with mechanical design using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Fluid Power training (or equivalent experience) is an asset
- Excellent communication skills, problem solving, prioritization and organizational skills needed.
- Excellent PC skills
- CAD and other computer design software proficiency.
- Technical skills necessary to prepare and/or revise drawings, sketches, assemblies and schematics in accordance with specific guidelines
