**You as a Patient Food Service Supervisor will**:
- Be responsible to supervise, train, schedule, evaluate and mentor front-line food service employees who are assigned to work on receiving, preparing, portioning, serving, delivery and collection and ware-washing.
- Conduct audits, tours food services and patient care units and ensures departmental standards are met.
- Supervise unionized personnel and/or students including: determining workload and delegating assignments, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective and disciplinary actions as per CUPE collective agreement.
- Manage food supply, preparation of meals, beverages, and nourishments to ensure compliance with standardized menus.
- Participate in departmental planning and project work.
- Participate in controlling costs and quality improvement initiatives.
- Set an example of expected behaviour for staff (i.e. follows proper policies and procedures, maintains professionalism at all times, provides excellent customer service, etc.)
**Is this the right role for you?**
- You are a graduate of an approved Food & Nutrition Management program or a university graduate of a Food & Nutrition program required.
- You have a membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM).
- You have an advanced Food Service Handlers Certification required.
- Minimum 2 years health care supervisory experience in a unionized environment required.
- You have a good understanding of food service operations within a health care setting including food service systems, quality checks, food service equipment, emergency codes, food safety, WHIMS, infection control and patient confidentiality.
- Experience working with cold-plating, food service operation preferred.
- Knowledge of Computrition, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues, prioritize requests and handle multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining a positive approach and customer service focus.
- You are able to work day shifts, evening and weekend shifts
