**Construction Material Testing Coordinator**
**Public Works - Operations Support**
**(2 Positions) Regular Full-Time**
**Salary Range: $65,480 - $81,849 per annum**
**Work Mode**:On-site
**Location**:2 Copper Road, Brampton
**Hours of Work**:35 hours/week (Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm)
Reporting to the Supervisor, Surveys and Materials Laboratory you will provide technical and administrative assistance to Peel’s engineering and construction division.

What you will do in this role_**_:_**
- Conduct field tests and sampling of materials for gradations, compaction testing, casting concrete specimens and perform air and slump tests.
- Co-ordinate asphalt field compaction testing, obtain and deliver asphalt samples to Geotechnical Consultant for Lab testing.
- Conduct laboratory testing of granular, soil, and concrete materials and report test results on a daily basis to the Materials Lab Technical Analyst.
- Provide updates to engineers and contractors regarding the Region’s Materials Standard Specifications and ensure proper procedures and materials are used.
- Perform tests on Capital Works projects (roads, sewers and watermain) and prepare daily reports for Inspector or Project Manager.
- Ensure all field and laboratory equipment is maintained on a regular basis and meets OPSS/CSA standards.
- Ensure all reports are accurately completed, filed and distributed.
- Assist with research and development for new construction techniques and materials.
- Assist with training of seasonal staff.
**_ What the role requires_**_:_**
- Successful completion of post-secondary Civil Engineering Technology or related program with one year of related work experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented with superior research, investigative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide and maintain a positive public image of the Region and good judgement to resolve issues in a positive and courteous manner.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office programs.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload effectively.
- Valid class “G” licence in good standing.

**Work Mode and Job Location**: On-site work, based out of 2 Copper Road, Brampton.
