**Summer Camp Program Leader**

Join the COOKSMART team in a mid level leadership role and be a part of our exciting and healthy cooking programs this summer. We're on the lookout for individuals who love teaching children and have a passion for promoting healthy eating and lifestyle.

**Locations**:

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead engaging and hands-on cooking programs focused on introducing children to cooking basics and nutritious choices.
- Assist in the management of groups of up to 30 children aged 6-13 in a professional and enjoyable environment.
- Contribute to daily lesson planning and organization of camp activities.
- Provide diverse and captivating summer camp activities, outside of nutrition and cooking activities including art, drama, sports, music, and science.
- Guarantee adherence to safety procedures for counsellors, volunteers, and campers, especially in the handling of food.
- Supervise campers, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Prepare and organize necessary program instruments and equipment.
- Exhibit positive and professional behavior in interactions with parents, participants, and co-workers.
- Provide positive guidance to counsellors, and volunteers by fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful environment for positive experiences of team members and campers.
- Maintain cleanliness and ensure proper use of camp facilities and equipment.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in teaching or working with children, preferably in group settings.
- Education and/or enrollment in the field of ECE or education is an asset.
- High 5 certification.
- Certification in safe food handling and procedures (can be earned after hiring)
- Extra-curricular activities in dance, sports, music, drama, etc., will be highly regarded.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiastic and outgoing personality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- First aid training, particularly for food allergies, is preferred.
- Successful completion of a vulnerable sector check.
- Reliability and strong teamwork and communication skills are mandatory.

- Due to the nature of this role and team operations, we are unable to accommodate extended time off requests during July and August. We appreciate your understanding.
- Successful applicants are required to commute to selected work location; preferred locations can be requested but are not guaranteed.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 2-4 months

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Work Location: In person
