Psychologists within our specialized services plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate the outcomes of high quality, client centered care. The consistent use of progress monitoring and outcome evaluation empowers clients to make informed decisions about their care and promote the attainment of meaningful outcomes. Psychologists play a key role in improving access to appropriate services now through the provision of consultation, training, and dissemination of evidence based practice to other professionals, and for the future through participation in clinical training and supervision of the next generation of Psychologists within our state of the art psychology training program. As part of a leading academic health sciences centre, Psychologists partner with persons with lived experience, research scientists and inter-professional staff to lead clinically-oriented research that will identify new avenues for care.
The Integrated Schizophrenia Recovery Program offers evidence based services consistent with HQO standards to clients with Schizophrenia and other psychotic spectrum symptoms at all stages of their recovery journey, in inpatient, outpatient, day treatment, and recovery settings. Psychologists in ISRP work in an interprofessional team in collaboration with Psychiatry, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Dietary and Spiritual Care staff. Client care is centered in a trauma-informed, culturally-competent approach and addresses the social determinants of health, stigma, discrimination and social justice.
**Duties**:
- Provide evidence based psychological assessment for differential diagnosis
- Provide evidence based treatments in alignment for Health Quality Ontario standards for Schizophrenia, and evidence based interventions for common co-occurring mental health symptoms, including persons dually diagnosed, for inpatient and outpatient clients.
- Function as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Liaise and consult with relevant community agencies and service providers.
- Participate in academic activities, including teaching and supervision of pre-doctoral Psychology residents and practicum students, non-registered Psychology staff as well as other learners, and provide professional consultation to staff from other health related disciplines
- Carry out research including writing peer-reviewed grant proposals in keeping with the Program’s objectives.
- Provide leadership to and participate in program design, outcome and program evaluation.
- Initiate research projects (which may include quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives). Demonstrate professional integrity through adherence to college and hospital guidelines for the practice of psychology, including; adherence to the Canadian Code of Ethics for psychologists, adherence to College of Psychologists of Ontario guidelines for registration, professional practice, professional development, supervision, communications and documentation of client contacts, as well as adherence to The Royal’s policies on timely completion of documentation and workload measurement

**Qualifications**:
- Doctorate from a CPA/APA Accredited Psychology Program.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
- Authorized area of practice in Clinical Psychology mandatory. Authorized client population with Adults is mandatory.
- Primary therapeutic model is aligned with Health Quality Ontario standards (i.e., CBT for Psychosis)
- Training and experience in the treatment of schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders, and related mental health conditions, using evidence based modalities.
- Training and experience in evidence based, trauma informed and trauma focused interventions
- Experience with assessment and intervention of persons dually diagnosed would be an asset
- Experience with assessment and intervention of persons with concurrent disorders and behavioural management
